Oguchi Disease

Oguchi disease is a very rare disorder that has been reported more frequently in Japanese individuals.

Mutation:

  • SAG → Arrestin
  • GRK1 → Rhodopsin kinase

Clinical findings:

Mizuo–Nakamura phenomenon on fundus examination: the retina appears normal in darkness but develops a yellowish, bright iridescent appearance under illumination.
